Who doesn't love spreadsheets?

I love spreadsheets, they are indispensable tools that I use daily, and I am not alone - who doesn't use spreadsheets?


Around 70-80% of UK businesses rely heavily on Microsoft Excel and 38% of office workers’ time in the UK is spent using Excel


But


Spreadsheets aren’t without their flaws…The issues with spreadsheets aren’t necessarily related to the software itself but how it's adapted and used in specific contexts. In sectors like social housing, relying on spreadsheets for managing compliance or property conditions can be extremely risky

While spreadsheets will always have a place in business, they simply aren’t appropriate for managing the condition and safety of social housing properties.  They can offer rapid solutions to complex manipulations of large data sets temporarily (some information is better than none), which is why they proliferate, but they are rarely futureproof when longer term solutions demand more rigorous validation, robustness and data security.
