Our story

Independent. Specialist. Built for UK social housing, since 2002

Asprey’s business was founded by Building Performance Group, a spinout business of the BRE that partnered with and then sold to Asprey in 2002. Our primary aim was to build a comprehensive suite of asset management products and services; we have and continue to invest heavily in its continuous improvement.

Our origin

Fiercely independent since 2002

Asprey acquired a BRE spinout business in 2002. Everything since has been reinvestment in one suite for one sector. Our 25th anniversary arrives in 2027.

Unchanged since 2002

  • The sector: UK social housing, exclusively.

  • The ownership: independent, with product direction set in-house.

  • The habit: continuous reinvestment in the suite, year after year.

Milestones

A quarter of a century, in motion

Asprey founded

Formed to acquire a BRE spinout business, bringing the surveyors and software authors of Estatepro together as an independent specialist for UK social housing.

First handheld survey tool

e-Survey, our first handheld survey device, took stock condition data collection into the field: the start of our mobile working.

Clients for life

Pobl, now Codi Group, has used our software since 2006 and Orwell Housing Association since 2007. Both are still with us today.

A five-product suite

Estatepro, ProContract, ProSurvey, ServicePro and ComponentPro: asset management, works, handheld surveys, servicing and component accounting in one suite.

AspireBI launched

AspireBI, our strategic asset management and option appraisal solution, brought asset values, option appraisal and sustainability modelling into one self-serve tool.

Compliance and BI across the suite

We launched new compliance management features and a business intelligence portal across the suite, and joined the G-Cloud 12 and Northern Housing Consortium frameworks.

Asprey Assets, free for every customer

Estatepro replaced with Asprey Assets; rolled out free of charge to every existing customer.
